Dacia has been a mediator with The Resolution Center since 2014 and has been on the Board of Directors since 2018. For Dacia, helping people effectively communicate with one and other to resolve conflict through mediation is extremely rewarding. Dacia especially enjoys her work training young people to be peer mediators so that they can help their classmates resolve problems at school and along the way, learn valuable communication skills.
Dacia was formerly with Ropes & Gray, LLP and the General Counsel’s office at the National Institutes of Health. Her practice areas included Technology Transfer and Health Care Law. After retiring from law practice, Dacia has been an active volunteer in her community as a civic leader, elected official and youth sport coach. For many years, Dacia has been on the Steering Committee of the League of Women Voters of Hamilton-Wenham focusing primarily on civic engagement and voter education. In 2017, she was the Co-recipient of the Hamilton-Wenham Community House Volunteer of the Year Award for work related to the initiation and running of the community-wide LWVHW Annual Civics Bee.
Dacia holds a B.A. in Economics from Smith College and a J.D. from Boston University School of Law. She lives in Wenham with her husband. Her two adult daughters are pursuing careers in teaching and music. For fun, Dacia enjoys skiing, ice hockey and all racquet sports.
