Mediation is a collaborative process in which neutral mediators support parties in conflict by helping them to identify disputed issues, explore possible options and develop fair resolutions.
Mediation can result in a written agreement that will contain plain-language summarizing the parties commitments to each other. Mediations that do not result in a written agreement can also be helpful as parties explore new avenues for communication.
The Resolution Center has 40 experienced, volunteer mediators who mediate between 300 and 350 cases each year. The mediators, who live in various communities on the North Shore, come from a variety of backgrounds including legal, social service, education, business and mental health.
Mediation Services are held during the day and/or early evening on Zoom, in person at The Resolution Center office in Beverly, Massachusetts or, as needed, at other convenient community locations.
We offer a sliding-fee scale to individuals and families seeking mediation to encourage access to this effective & cost-efficient approach to resolving disagreements. Anyone experiencing conflict can contact us directly or be referred by a professional.
